  2. June 2025

The children's program becomes the Peninsula Community Youth Orchestra and invites string students from across the Olympic Peninsula, rehearsing at Swisher Hall in Sequim and First United Methodist Church in Port Angeles.

  3. January 2026

We partner with Christine Faught of String Beans Studio to offer early music education for children ages 0–7.

  4. September 2026

The children's program completes its expansion to cover middle school students, adding an intermediate class in Port Angeles and an advanced Youth Orchestra in both Port Angeles and Sequim.

How we're different

Unlike a traditional youth orchestra, we welcome very young children and adults who have never played before.

  • Sound Sprouts, ages 0–6

Even the youngest children can start with music and movement, alongside a grown-up.

  • Suzuki Sprouts, ages 3–7

Children who aren't reading yet can begin an instrument as early as age 3.

  • Beginner Strings, ages 6 and up

Our main requirement is that students can read, so we can teach them to read music. Beginners rehearse separately from intermediate and advanced students.

  • Adult Labs

Welcoming adults who have never played a string instrument before.
