Why give?
The Peninsula Community Youth Orchestra is run and funded by the Sequim Community Orchestra, as part of the SCO’s mission to give musicians of all ages chances to learn and perform.
Since the program began in 2012 as SCO String Kids, the SCO Board has worked to keep tuition low and to give as many scholarships as are needed.
As of 2026, tuition has covered around 60% of the program’s projected operating costs on average over the last several years. The rest comes from generous donations from the community, including the SCO’s own members, who voted to raise their dues to keep children’s tuition as low as possible.
